Photo showing The long awaited all out Arab attack on the Jews has begun according to widespread reports of violence and attacks from the Holy Land. Here we see two members of the Palmach, the striking force of the Haganah, as they fired through a hole in a wall while training recently for city fighting. The Haganah, once illegal, is now working openly and has registered all men and women between the ages of 17 and 35. Actually, those under 25 only are called in the draft. The main problem has been to keep too many men and women over 35 from trying to serve when they are of more use in vital civilian jobs. The Defense Army organized 30 years ago has since grown to a full and efficient fighting force capable of coping with the dangerous situation which now faces it.
