Getting deep into subjective opinion, but what assassinations had the greatest impact on western history?  Thinking perhaps of Lincoln, McKinley, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Romanovs or even JFK.  I’m sure there are notable others.

Each had an impact, via their replacement or the fall-out from the event.

Your thoughts, please.

Dear Jeffrey,

No question about it, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914, had the greatest impact on world history. In many respects, we’re still feeling its aftereffects today.

Sincerely,
