Photography. Fellig worked as a photojournalist during the Depression, photographing the violent crimes and gory details of New York City. He called himself Weegee, after the Ouiji board, hinting at his ability to find bodies. Listening in on police band shortwave radio, Weegee often made it to the crime scene before the police.
