Sir Barton. Jockeyed by Johnny Loftus, Sir Barton was not the favorite to win the Kentucky Derby on May 10, 1919. On May 14th he won the Preakness in Baltimore and the Belmont Stakes on June 11th. Despite his 1919 victories, Sir Barton was ultimately retired in 1921, failed as a stud, and became part of the U.S. Army Remount Service in 1932.
