Vietnam War. The remains were exhumed on May 14, 1998. The soldier was identified as Air Force 1st Lt. Michael Joseph Blassie through mitochondrial DNA testing and was reinterred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. The Vietnam War’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier remains empty.
