Queen Victoria. An unconventional royal, Louise married a commoner. She was an artist and sculptor. Louise also worked to better conditions for women. She actively supported the Ladies’ Work Society which helped women earn a living with needlework. And she served as the first president of the National Union of Higher Education for Women.
