The Frisbee. Walter Morrison designed the toy in the early 1950s, then sold the rights to Wham-O Toys in 1956. The name Frisbee was taken from the Frisbie Baking Company that supplied pies to many Ivy League schools whose student would take the pie pans and throw them like Frisbees.
