Before Quinrinal Palace became the seat of the President of Italy, it had served this function.
Home of popes. Located in Rome, Pope Gregory XIII had it built in 1573 as a summer residence. Malaria was rampant in Vatican City during the heat. In 1870, it became home of the Italian king until Italy became a republic then it became the home of the president.
