Share This Article NASA’s first space shuttle was named this. Intrepid Enterprise Eagle Columbia Enterprise. Officially the OV-101, (OV for Orbiter Vehicle) the ship was unveiled in 1976. The Space Shuttle was the first re-useable spacecraft and took some 10 billion dollars to build. Enterprise never flew a mission.
