Gertrude Berg, actress and writer of radio, TV, and film scripts. Berg was most known for her starring role as Molly Goldberg in the radio and later TV program, The Goldbergs, which she created and wrote. The instant hit program about a working-class Jewish family aired at a time when anti-Semitism was growing worldwide. In 1933, to coincide with Passover, Berg broadcast a Seder service officiated by an actual rabbi.
