"The Star-Spangled Banner." Francis Scott Key had named his poem, written at the bombardment of Ft. McHenry in Baltimore Harbor, "Defense of Fort McHenry." Thomas Carr, who was organist of Old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and proprietor of Carr’s Music Store in Baltimore, adapted and arranged the music to accompany the poem.
