Buffalo Hot Chicken Wings have been feted by the city of Buffalo since 1977 with Chicken Wing Day. Supposedly in 1964 Teressa Bellissimo, the owner of the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, took some chicken wings, covered them in her homemade sauce and served them with a side of blue cheese and celery, thereby inventing Buffalo Hot Wings.
