Lance Sijan. He graduated the Air Force Academy in 1965 and died as a POW in 1968. His citation notes that Capt. Sijan ejected from his disabled aircraft over North Vietnam and evaded capture for more than 6 weeks. After being captured he overpowered 1 of his guards despite his emaciated and crippled condition and crawled into the jungle, only to be recaptured after several hours. During interrogation, he was severely tortured but did not divulge any information.
