Juan Vucetich. As a police official in Argentina, the Croatian-born Vucetich identified Francisca Rojas as the murderer of her two sons by a bloody fingerprint she left on a door. He became interested in fingerprints as identifiers after reading an article about France’s Francis Galton’s experiments.
