J.F.C. Fuller. A WWI veteran, during the interwar period he tried to rationalize the events of that war, publishing several works, including The Reformation of War and Lectures of FSR III. After retiring from the armed forces, Fuller joined a certain British fascist party. Perhaps his greatest work, The Decisive Battles of the Western World, was written after WWII.
