This German cruiser was sunk off Oslo during the invasion of Norway in the spring of 1940.
Lutzow
Blucher
Admiral Hipper
Prinz Eugen
The Blucher was sunk by Norwegian coastal batteries on Apr. 9, 1940, during the Battle of Drobak Sound, with a loss of some 600 to 1,000 lives. The heavy cruiser still lies on the bottom of the sound today, and in the mid-90s it created a stir about damaging the environment because of all the oil it was leaking.
