Dale Evans. When Evans and Roy Rogers married in 1947, they brought along four children from previous marriages. Their first child together, Robin, had Down syndrome and died just before her second birthday. Dale’s book in remembrance, Angel Unaware, launched her writing career. Evans and Rogers went on to adopt several more children, two of whom, Debbie and John David ("Sandy"), also died, at ages 12 and 18 respectively.
