Felix Mendelssohn, composer of Overture to William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which he composed at the age of 17 and oratorios St. Paul and Elijah. Fanny also displayed an exceptional talent for music. She died suddenly in May 1847 and Felix, overcome by her death, passed away the following November.
