William F. "Doc" Carver. A superb marksman and trick shooter, in 1883 Carver joined with Cody to produce an expanded version of Cody’s July Fourth Old Glory Blowout that had proven greatly successful the year before. Carver favored calling their extravaganza Golden West, but they settled on Cody and Carver’s Wild West.
