Wabash. On Nov. 4, 1791, warriors under Little Turtle attacked militiamen and US Army regulars under Arthur St. Claire, governor of the Northwest Territory. Of 1,400 men who had begun the campaign with St. Claire, 623 were killed and another 258 wounded.
