The General Post Office. The Volunteers raised two flags and a proclamation was read from the GPO. Eamon de Valera and his insurgents inflicted heavy casualties on British troops from Bolands Mill as the troops marched into Dublin on April 26, 1916, but the rebels failed to capture Dublin Castle.
