Oman. In the 1970s, Britain sent troops to support the Oman government‘s war against Adoo guerillas. On July 19, 1972, the Adoo sent 250 well-armed fighters against nine isolated British SAS troopers near Mirbat. A 25-pdr that supported the SAS and their reinforcements as they drove off the Adoo is now on display in the Firepower museum of the Royal Artillery, and is called the Mirbat gun.
