Jacob Waltz, believed to have been born in Wurttemberg, Germany. Fact and fiction intertwine, but reportedly he was directed to the mine in the Superstition Mountains after aiding a Miguel Peralta. He made several trips to the mountains in the 1870s and possessed high-grade gold. Many have tried to find his cache since his death in 1891.
