The Black Prince, a name first used nearly 200 years after his death. Some believe he wore black armor or a black coat, others say the French gave him the name derisively. His fought at Crecy and Poitiers in France and Najera in Spain at the time of the 100 Years War. He died before his father and never became England’s king.
