The Jutes. The Jutes hailed from Jutland, at the northern tip of the Danish peninsula and migrated to Britain in the 5th century as part of the Germanic invasion. The notion that they settled in what is now Kent and the Isle of Wight, as is recorded by Anglo-Saxon chronicler Bede the Venerable, has been confirmed by archaeological evidence.
