Caratacus was the ancient Briton who mounted a guerrilla uprising against the Romans in AD 43. Caratacus, also known as Caradoc, was chief of the Catuvellauni. His uprising ultimately failed after he was betrayed by the Brigantian queen, Cartimandua. He was taken to Rome where he was later pardoned by Claudius.
