TOMMY
Tommy banged into town earlier this spring. The rock opera is not new, having been a London hit of many years ago, and it’s certainly noisy, but it has a difference; with it comes an audience that is for the most part rock devotees. They just love this show, and the Shaftesbury Theatre explodes into applause at the end. The music booms out, the set ignites with lighting and special effects. Still, it must be said, this tale of the tribulations of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy is a bit of a one-level entertainment.
