LEWIS & CLARK: SOUNDS OF DISCOVERY, Makoché Recording Company, $14.95.
The period songs and sounds recorded for this CD trace the historic 1804-06 journey of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and the Corps of Discovery. Many of the 37 songs, which feature bagpipes, fiddles, flutes, hand drums, harpsichords, and violins, were recorded at actual locations along the route of the Lewis and Clark journey. An accompanying 24-page booklet explains the role that music played in the expedition.
