It’s August, and it is HOT. At least it has been so in the Mid-Atlantic.  

To help you cool off, take a look at this mid-19th century image of oxen harnessed up to a logging sled. Snow blankets the ground, and the loggers are dressed for warmth. Soon enough, we will be complaining about the cold. But right now, cold, bracing air and a fire in the fireplace would be a welcome break from heat and humidity.
