In the movie Patton with George C. Scott, one scene shows Patton reading a book, The Tank in Battle, supposedly written by Erwin Rommel. Did Rommel really write this book or was it a prop?

Whatever translation the filmers of Patton chose to use so as not to confuse the audience, Erwin Rommel’s actual book on tactics was entitled Infanterie Greift n (“Infantry Attacks”), which included the use of armor support.
