SPECIAL EVENTS:
Oral History Project at Walsh University in Ohio Focuses on Vietnam War (as reported in IndeOnline.com)
Walsh University Assistant Professor of History Kelly Selby is leading her class in an oral history project that focuses on the Vietnam War era and the experiences of veterans and civilians. As part of their coursework, students will interview those willing to share their stories in an effort to preserve this component of national history.
Area residents willing to share their stories of service in the Vietnam War or civilian experiences or reactions to the U.S. involvement in the war are invited to do so. The stories will be shared with the Library of Congress Veteran History Project and Ohio Historical Society's Memory Project when applicable.
Interviews will be conducted in North Canton, Ohio, during February and March 2012.
In an effort to avoid redundancy with the current Kent State Shooting Oral History Project, Walsh students will not interview those with personal accounts of the May 4, 1970, Kent State shootings and war protests.
Anyone interested in being interviewed should contact Beth Juelich-Velotta at 330-244-4758 or ejuelich@walsh.edu.
