This was the first soft drink to be bottled in America.
Hires Root Beer
Coca-Cola
Dr Pepper
Vernors Ginger Ale
Dr Pepper started bottling in 1891, beating Hires Root Beer by two years, Coca-Cola by three and Vernors by five. Prior to being offered in bottles all these soft drinks were only sold at soda fountains, where the flavored syrup and the carbonated water were mixed as the drink glass was filled. Originally Dr Pepper was Dr. Pepper, but the period was dropped in the 1950s.
