Black Sea. The 30th Flotilla had six Type IIB U-boats attached to it that were ferried up two rivers from the German bight and transported overland on 70-ton trailers. The flotilla was very successful for its size, as it kept the Soviet Black Sea Fleet on alert. The six boats were either scuttled or destroyed once Romania changed sides in late 1944.
