Helicopters in the Korean War
Used primarily for search and rescue in the Korean War’s early days, choppers had become an essential battlefield tool by the conflict?s end. In the photo above, crews and medical personnel display their equipment including a Bell H-13 at the headquarters of the 8225th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) in Korea on October 14, 1951.
