How do you stay forgivingand wish to have malace toward none? It seems to me like he would have had reason to want revenge and not forgive, but he chose “malace toward none and charity toward all.”

it was thought of even before slaves became free. it was a whole plot to kill about 6 or 7 political members. everyone chickened out and was arrested after except booth. he killed him and jumped off the balcony and broke his leg . later he was shot and killed in a barn.
i read it in a book.

Chex, that question is answered in Dr. Gerald Prokopowicz’s book, Did Lincoln Own Slaves? He addressed dozens of questions he commonly heard when he was director of the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The first name of “Tad” was Thomas, which was Lincoln’s father’s name.
