Civil War Times Editor Dana Shoaf shares the story of the engagement at Goose Creek Bridge in Northern Virginia during the Gettysburg Campaign. On December 6, 2017, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, the Civil War Trust, and NOVA Parks, in partnership, announced that the bridge is now part of a new park preserving 20 acres of the Upperville Battlefield. The bridge was built about 1802, when Thomas Jefferson was president.
