Clock. Banneker’s wooden clock, built in 1753, was the first clock constructed entirely in the United States. The clock kept perfect time until 1806 when it was destroyed in a fire. In 2003, Banneker Watches and Clocks was founded in Denver. Each of the company’s watches, clocks, and jewelry contain wood.
