World History Group will be making a big play at the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on December 30, but we won’t be on the field at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas. Instead, we’ll be there to host the national kickoff for World’s first-ever book series.
Earlier this month, World Publications released the first book in the War Stories series we’re publishing: The Pacific Volume One: Pearl Harbor to Guadalcanal. The series incorporates interviews with veterans into a thoroughly researched narrative, enhanced by maps and graphics to help readers better understand the campaigns and battles of World War II.
Jay Wertz, who interviewed dozens of veterans to write this series, and Col. (retired) Jerry Morelock, PhD, who is serving as editor for the War Stories series will be signing copies of the book at the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.
Jay’s work has often appeared in such World magazines as Aviation History and Civil War Times, and he is a frequent contributor on World History Group’s HistoryNet, ArmchairGeneral, and GreatHistory Websites.
Jerry is well-known as the editor of our Armchair General magazine, chosen by the Chicago Tribune as Number 25 on its third annual list of “50 Best Magazines.” He frequently contributes reviews and articles of historical insight to the ArmchairGeneral Website, his most recent being “Japanese-American Internment During World War II.”
