Songwriter Vic Mizzy wrote the popular theme song to the 1960s TV show “Green Acres” and the theme song to this show.
“The Addams Family.” Mizzy played the harpsichord for the theme, carefully orchestrated the finger snaps, and sang the song. Paul Henning, creator of “Green Acres,” “Petticoat Junction,” and “The Beverly Hillbillies,” wrote “The Ballad of Jed Clampett” as the “Hillbillies” theme and wrote the lyrics to Curt Massey’s music for the “Junction’s” theme but relied on Mizzy for the “Green Acres” theme.
