Birthplace of Insulin. The house had been the home of Sir Frederick Banting who discovered insulin in the early 1920’s. Insulin regulates diabetes. On a 1989 visit to the home, the Queen Mother lit the Flame of Hope which will burn until a cure for diabetes is found.
