Central America. The four day war between El Salvador and Honduras occurred in July 1969 after the two countries competed in the FIFA World Cup qualifier. The war was caused by migration of citizens from El Salvador to Honduras and passage of a law allowing Honduras to seize the land of Salvadorian immigrants.
