Pennsylvania Continental Congress member George Clymer held this position in the newly-formed federal government.
U.S. Representative in the first congress. Clymer had signed both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. He also served as a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania and president of the Pennsylvania Bank. The town of Clymer, PA is named in his honor.
