America. Napoleon abdicated for the second time on June 22, 1815 in favor of his 4-year-old son. On June 29 he arrived at Rocheport and tried to get a ship for America, but the British blockade prevented him from escaping. Somewhat ironically, a British ship then carried him into exile.
