AMERICAN POETRY: THE NINETEENTH CENTURY (Voyager, $49.95)

Compiled from the collection of the Library of America, the works of well-known American poets of the last century–William Cullen Bryant (1794-1878), Emily Dickinson (1830-86), Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-82),Philip Freneau (1752-1832), Francis Scott Key (1779-1843), Emma Lazarus(1849-87), Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882), and David Henry Thoreau (1817-62), among others–are presented in this CD-ROM program for Macintosh and Windows. The more than a thousand poems featured also include nineteenth century versions of Native-American poetry; lyrics of popular folk songs and spirituals; verses penned by two U.S. presidents, John Quincy Adams(1767-1848) and Abraham Lincoln (1809-65); and celebrated recitation pieces such as Clement C.
