The National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., has opened 1812: A Nation Emerges, a major exhibition of art depicting significant moments and leaders of the War of 1812, including Andrew Jackson (above, at the Battle of New Orleans). Famous works by Gilbert Stuart, Charles Wilson Peale, Rembrandt Peale are featured. MHQ has collected here a few images from the exhibit, which runs through January 27, 2013.
