I SERVED AS A RADIO OPERATOR WITH THE OSS IN SOUTHERN FRANCE. MARRIANNE9not sure of the spelling)HAD MORE GUTS THAN JUST ABOUT ANYONE I KNOW. SHE HATED GERMANS WITH A PASSION. I WENT AS HER RADIO OPERATOR ON A MISSION. SHE WADED ACROSS A RIVER THE END OF NOVEMBER TO GET TO HER ASSIGNMENT. THE LOCATION OF A GERMAN AMMUNITION DUMP. SHE FORWARDED THE MAP COORDINATES TO ME AND I GAVE THEM TO THE ARTILLARY WHO SHELLED THE DUMP AND DESTROYED IT. SHE DIED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. HER OBIT WAS IN THE OSS NEWS WITH AN ARTICLE.

Odette Genue and Mademoiselle Simone stayed couple of times in the cellar of my father Max-Henri Moulin in Bruyeres. They worked for the SSS-G2 of the 36th Division under the order of Captain Justin L. Green.
My father Max-Henri Moulin was a member of the O.S.S. as well as FFI Leader and was awarded with other decorations the Legion of Merit of America by General William J. Donovan himself for his work.
I agreed with you that they were never properly reconnized. For more info read my book US Samurais in Bruyeres which recall the Battle of Bruyeres considered now as ONE OF THE TEN MOST IMPORTANT BATTLES OF THE UNITED STATES HISTORY.

The women that played a vital part in WW II should be more recongnized for the bravery and dedication that they displayed for their country. I enjoy reading about them.
