This exciting tale continues event to this day as Jake McNiece,
now clsoe to 90 years old and the three otehr surviving members of the Filthy Thirteen prepare to attend the Annual Military Airshow being held in Redding, PA. There they are to preside over the unvieling of a painting depecting the men as they prepared to board the aircraft which would take them to Normandy on D-Day morning.

The following week mcNiece will also be appear at the 2009 Oklahoma D-Day event, where he'll talk about his expereinces and also sign copies of his book. He'll be joined there by fifteen active duty members of the 101st, just returned from deployment in Afghanistan. The soldiers are expected to participate in the event as members of Jake's old outfit, The Filthy Thirteen.
