I am his sisters', Grace Elise Brittin, Great Grandson and am delighted that this article exists. I didn't know him very well for I was very young when I got to meet him on some of our family beach trips in the early 90's, some Christmases and/or Thanksgivings ( my memory is a little vague but my Grandmother will know the answer). Reading this has given me some insight into who he was, thank you. I look forward to telling the tale of 'Uncle Burt' (as my cousins and I referred to him) to my children.
