Hi Christina,
I had the privilege of meeting your Dad on June 6th of 2008. I met him at La Manoir in the driveway at the rear of the house. I spotted him and asked him if he was a veteran. He responded, "Veteran? Hell, I wrote the book about this place." I told him I was there to visit the site and re-trace the steps of a friend who fought there. His respones was "Fought here?" I said yes, his name was James Blue." Your father said, "I knew Blue! Did he tell you about the white handkerchief?" I told him that Mr. Blue had and your Dad then proceeded to tell me the story anyway. He told it exactly as Mr. Blue had recounted it to me.

Great day and a great hero. I know you are proud of him.

My regards,
Joe Tart
