Mitchell was ahead of his time which means he was ahead of his contemporaries who knew that Mitchell was correct but were clueless as what to do and How to make the needed chanes. They were correct to be concerned because in 1926 aircraft were so limited in their capabilities and the support needed was annemic at best. New systems require new technologies, teaching, training, new visions and new mission statements, hugh financial commitments a wide range sustained for years so as to achieve a force that can actully do something. It is like turning around a battle ship. It took a big chunk of sea to do that. So I do not criticise his adversaries without some sympathy. However, I do kick their fannies hard for the unneeded villanization and wasted time and resources. Secretly a year or two after the courts-martial, both Navy and Army new commanders started to do what Mitchell had recommended

There is too much to explain how Billy Mitchell was court-martialled and considering no one from the Air Force has responded I will leave that to those who don't understand, to do their research or..... see the movie albeit a Hollywood shuffle... or talk to someone from the Air Force, but suffice it to say - railroaded is to nice a word to use to describe what they did to Billy Mitchell even though he did sidestep some military protocols.

I really enjoyed this article about Billy Mitchell, but i have a question. What is the importance of billy Mitchell. If he was so important then why was he court marshaled.

In regard to Major Carl Mollnow, you can now go to www.youtube.com/carlmollnow to see many of the televsion news stories done on him and his case regarding the Feres Doctrine.

Included in these videos is his story on CBS NEWS Program- 60 Minutes, Lou Dobbs, 2 other stories done by CBS NEWS and more!!

Please inform yourself about the Feres Doctrine, it is a 1950 US Supreme Court Ruling that states that NO US military servicemember may sue the Military or the US Government for ANY REASON.

This means that when a person joins the military, they no longer have ANY civil rights.

Is this the America we live in?

Let everyone you know about this so that the Feres Doctrine can be removed from law.

Thousands of military servicemembers have been wronged by the Feres Doctrine. Look it up on google, just type in "feres doctrine" and you can see for yourself.

Thank you!!

Major Carl Mollnow, USAF, Today's Billy Mitchell

My father, Carl Mollnow, endured the exact treatment that Billy Mitchell was treated to as a F-100 fighter pilot, then apointed to the B-47 Jet Nuclear Bomber, where he became a "Select" Nuclear Bomber Pilot, by today's standards a "Top Gun" Bomber Pilot.

After 6 years as a select nuclear bomber pilot, he was transfered from the Strategic Air Command or SAC, to the Military Airlifit Command, or MAC.

The standards to which MAC adhered to were "criminal" at best, catostrophic lapses in nuclear weapons transport to deadly flight procedures in regards to the Olympic Mountain Range.

As it was his charge and duty, he filed hazard reports, describing these hazards, but only to the deaf ears of his superiors.

As Billy Mitchell released his strongest denunciation of the War Department about the crash of the Shenandoah in September of 1925, Carl Mollnow's strongest denunciation was the Crash of a C-141 Transport Plane in the Olympic Mountains on March 20th, 1975, which he predicted years before in one of many hazard reports, as did Mitchell in regard to accidents and the Japanesse Attack on Peral Harbor.

As Michell said in September of 1925, this accident and others were, as Billy Mitchell said, "the result of incompetency, criminal negligence, and the almost treasonable negligence of our national defense by the War and Navy Departments", but in this case, the Air Force, which Mitchell fought so hard to establish. To continue by Mitchell," I can stand by no longer and see these disgusting performances... at the expense of the lives of our people, and the delusions of the American Public."

My father too was Court Martialed, and was given a "honorable discharge, under dishonorable cirumstances"

By this finding, the Air Force was Obliagted by the UCMJ to pay him his retirement for the 23 years of service rendered, but after putting in the paperwork and recieving nothing, going through all of the Air Force Channels, he has recieved NOTHING IN RETIREMENT PAY since 1978.

Is this justice?

My father has been on 60 Minutes, Lou Dobbs for King 5 News, CBS News, and several other news stations in regard to this.
